Question 3. What is the work of a tehsildar?
Answer: A Tehsildar has to hear the disputes. He also supervises the work of the Patwari and ensures that records are properly kept and land revenue is collected. They make sure that the farmers can easily obtain a copy of their record, students can obtain their caste certificates, etc.
Question 4. What issue is the poem trying to raise? Do you think this is an important issue? Why?
Answer: The poem is trying to raise the issue of inheritance of daughters and mothers in the property of their father/husband.
I think this issue is an important issue as daughters after marriage are harassed for more dowry and money as they do not inherit a share in’ the property of their father or husband.
If they inherit their father’s property they can do enough to meet both ends.
No inlaws’ family would harass them for dowry if they inherit a share in the property of their husband.
Question 5. In what ways are the work of the Panchayat, that you read about in the previous chapter and the work of the Patwari related to each other?
Answer: The Patwari organises the collection of land revenue from the farmers and provide information to the government about the crops grown in the area. With this the Panchayat finalises its strategies regarding development. It can assess the resources and planning.
Question 6. Visit a police station and find out the work that the police have to do to prevent crime and maintain law and order in their area especially during festivals, public meetings etc.
Answer: The police does the following to prevent crime and maintain law and order in their area specially during festivals, public meetings etc.
They deploy additional Police force.
They increase vigil.
They deploy quick communication techniques.
They increase search work.
They increase surveillance.

Answer: The Superintendent of Police (SP) is in-charge of all the police stations in a district.
Question 8. How do women benefit under the new law?
Answer: Under the new law women are benefited in the way that they inherit the property of their father equally with their brothers and mother.
Question 9. In your neighbourhood are there women who own property? How did they acquire it?
Answer: There is one woman in my neighbourhood who owns the property. She acquired a part of this property from her paternal side and the rest with her own labour and hard work.

उत्तर: कविता अपने पिता / पति की संपत्ति में बेटियों और माताओं की विरासत के मुद्दे को उठाने की कोशिश कर रही है।
मुझे लगता है कि यह मुद्दा एक महत्वपूर्ण मुद्दा है क्योंकि शादी के बाद बेटियों को अधिक दहेज और पैसे के लिए परेशान किया जाता है क्योंकि उन्हें अपने पिता या पति की संपत्ति में हिस्सा नहीं मिलता है।
यदि उन्हें अपने पिता की संपत्ति विरासत में मिलती है तो वे दोनों छोरों को पूरा करने के लिए पर्याप्त कर सकते हैं।
यदि उनके पति की संपत्ति में कोई हिस्सा विरासत में मिला है तो कोई भी ससुराल का परिवार उन्हें दहेज के लिए परेशान नहीं करेगा।

उत्तर: पटवारी किसानों से भूमि राजस्व के संग्रह का आयोजन करता है और सरकार को क्षेत्र में उगाई जाने वाली फसलों के बारे में जानकारी प्रदान करता है। इसके साथ पंचायत विकास के संबंध में अपनी रणनीतियों को अंतिम रूप देती है। यह संसाधनों और योजना का आकलन कर सकता है।
